Day 46 – What’s the Issue?!

Welcome to Maresa … it’s good to have so many kind hearted people on my list of followers.

One of my favourite passages of scripture is found in Mosiah and it contains the following admonition: “ … ye will not suffer that the beggar putteth up his petition in vain, and turn him out to perish.”

A few years ago that passage had a profound affect on me and ever since I have always tried to give to anyone and everyone in need … even if it means coming home with three Big Issues!! … J

Motivation for ‘’My Ten-a-day’

One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.

Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?”

The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.”

“Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!”

After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said, “I made a difference for that one.”

  1. I have always loved that story about the starfish :-) makes me think a lot about the little things in life, how even a smile at one "grumpy looking" person can change their whole day whether you know it or not. :-) thanks Richard.
