Day 54 to 59 – Lunch at Tiffany’s

May I welcome Ruth & Kathryn to the merry band of followers … it’s great to have your love and support … xxx

This week I had lunch with a wonderful friend and ex-colleague. It is good when you can laugh and cry in the company of someone you care about. One of the greatest gifts we can give our friends is our time; especially those who really need it.

I am sure we all have friends who need our company and this week I would encourage you to search out the one who needs a good friend to laugh and cry with.

This weeks ‘menu’ of good deeds included:

2 x Gave cash to a charity
1 x Voluntary work as a mediation consultant
1 x Voluntary work at the local medical centre
1 x Voluntary work for Ipsos Access Panels
3 x Put neighbours bin back after the bin men had been
2 x Held the door open for someone
2 x Treated a friend to lunch

Motivation for ‘’My Ten-a-day’

One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.

Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?”

The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.”

“Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!”

After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said, “I made a difference for that one.”
